Pedro Mota develops his practice as a graphic designer since 2012. His academic background includes a Degree in Communication Design from ESAD Matosinhos (2012) and a Specialisation in Graphic Design and Editorial Projects from FBAUP 2016). Between 2014 and 2019 he collaborates with João Faria (Drop) for the exhibition "A Liberdade da Imagem: Design e Comunicação Visual em Portugal (1974-1986)" (Porto, 2014), of Curtas de Vila do Conde (2017, 2018) and also the graphic identity of the cycles "Terra" (2017) and "New Spain" (2018) for Solar - Galeria de Arte Cinemática. He also collaborated with Another Collective studio for the graphic design of the exhibition "Abitare Italia" (Porto Design Biennale, 2019), work awarded by Graphis Design Award, and with Inês Nepomuceno for the development of the identity of the festival "Mescla" (2019). He also collaborated with the Circo de Ideias publishing company for the graphic design of the books "Tudo é Paisagem" (2019) and "Gaia Museu Ambiente" (2022). In parallel, he has maintained a studio practice, with the Macedo Cannattà studio - where he participated in the development of projects such as the graphic identity of the 5th Istanbul Design Biennial (2020), the cultural association Sismógrafo (2021) and Batalha Centro de Cinema (2021) - recently, with the agency United by (2022–2023).
He is currently designer and editor of Vai Vem Editora,
a project co-created with Margarida Antunes and works as a freelancer.
